What is the Opinion Leaders Project? |

The Opinion Leaders Project is Government’s key strategy to make policy development and service delivery responsive to the needs of citizens. Based on ongoing surveys of a selected Panel, it will track people’s perceptions and attitudes toward public services and Government performance. This information will then be channeled to relevant agencies for action.

Who are Opinion Leaders? |

The Opinion Leaders are a group of approximately 2,800 members of the general public (the Panel), who have been randomly selected to ensure that they are truly representative of the Trinidad and Tobago population who use public services.

What will I be required to do if I become an Opinion Leader? |

If you are selected to take part, you will be contacted to be interviewed for approximately 1 hour, over the next three years (2002 to 2005) up to 3 times yearly.

Will Opinion Leaders ever meet? |

There are no plans for the full group to meet. Contact will normally be one-to-one with our team of interviewers.

Who will collect the data and conduct the analysis? |

The Ministry of Public Administration and Information is the key Central Government Agency involved in setting this up. HHB and Associates Ltd., a local market research company has been asked to collect the data. This data will then be analysed by the Ministry of Public Administration and Information in collaboration with Market and Opinion Research International (MORI). MORI is an independent consultant with international experience in the field of market research, specializing in the field of service delivery.

If I am chosen as an Opinion Leader, will anyone know that I am a member of the Panel? |

Not unless you tell them. The Ministry of Public Administration and Information an HHB and Associates will strictly protect your confidentiality. No one else will know that you are a Panel member or how you answer any of the questions asked.

Will the Project be used for Party Political Research? |

No. The research focuses on improving the public service such as social services, schools, health centers and infrastructure etc. This information will be used to enhance the policy and service delivery planning process.
